Understanding Trauma
In this session, we’ll explore a practical introduction to trauma, focusing on how it can present and impact individuals in everyday and workplace settings.
This engaging session will provide an overview of trauma and highlight how responses can differ depending on individual experiences, perception, and support.
We will then take a closer look at:
- Common short-term responses following trauma, such as changes in sleep, mood and anxiety
- How longer-term trauma responses may present, including avoidance, intrusive thoughts and heightened alertness
- Key factors that may influence vulnerability, including past experiences and available support
- The potential impact of trauma in the workplace
The session will also introduce the Window of Tolerance, a simple framework for understanding emotional regulation, including how individuals may move into states of overwhelm or withdrawal.
Please join us for this informative session, designed to build awareness and support a more understanding approach for yourself and others.
