Mental Health and Wellbeing

Support employee wellbeing with our wide range of mental health and wellbeing services. We offer an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) and psychological services, including specialist therapy, mental health training, trauma and critical incident support.

Mental health and wellbeing support

Mental health issues remain the biggest cause of employee absence. One in six employees are now experiencing mental health issues, such as stress, anxiety and depression, at any time. Our proactive mental health and wellbeing services, delivered by PAM Wellness, can reduce mental health absence in the following ways.

  • Help to overcome short-term stress and anxiety with immediate access to qualified clinicians via our EAP.
  • Support to overcome entrenched mental health issues with enhanced therapy for those struggling to recover.
  • Education to boost mental health and wellbeing with our workshops, webinars and reflective sessions.

According to our latest data analysis, our counselling support generated measurable clinical improvements in employee wellbeing. On average, employees experienced a 57% improvement in their generalised anxiety disorder (GAD-7) scores. Plus, a 51% improvement in their depression Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9) score.

Mental health and wellbeing benefits

As well as helping employees access to the mental health support they need to stay healthy, we can also help them recover.

Proactive absence reduction

The longer it takes for employees to access mental health support, the more likely they are to become long-term sick. Our focus on early intervention and encouraging employees to seek support at the earliest opportunity can prevent three out of five employees from going absent.

‘Whole person’ wellbeing

We take a joined-up approach to wellbeing and use biopsychosocial models to support people with all the physical, emotional and social factors undermining their wellbeing. This means if someone’s mental health is being undermined by physical health issues, we can also provide support with that.

Data-driven insights

Our safe and secure case management system allows you to see all mental health referrals. Plus, access insightful management information (MI), including Power BI analytics. We use these data insights to let you know about any mental health hotspots, with recommendations on how to address them.

DELIVERY OPTIONS

Occupational health and wellbeing service delivery options

We offer a flexible approach to service delivery, incorporating a range of delivery methods.
Our professionally accredited counsellors can visit your site as needed, or on a regular basis, to conduct reflective sessions or onsite counselling. Many clients opt to have an on-site mental health counselling service, to allow 6-8 people to access face-to-face counselling once a week. As well as reducing downtime for employees, this can also make seeking out timely support for mental health issues a part of your workplace culture.

We employ over 800 people across the UK, with many of our mental health counsellors operating out of our nationwide clinics. Our clinics allow you to refer mental health cases on an as-required basis. This is particularly cost-effective as you will only pay for services used. To find out more about our clinics, visit our clinics page.

As well as our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), we also provide a wellbeing app and a range of remote solutions. Employees can opt to have video or telephone counselling to discuss how best to manage their mental health issues. We also deliver training via online workshops or webinars as needed and can meet with managers online to discuss mental health referrals.
